His name is Bazaleel. It means “in the shadow (protection) of God!” His is a Jew and lived at the time of Moses. He comes to the forefront during the construction of the Tabernacle.
Watch the words I capitalize and underline in the following Text: “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah: and I HAVE FILLED HIM WITH THE SPIRIT OF GOD, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, to devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.” Exodus 31:1-5
“Filled with the Spirit,” to work in gold and silver and brass! And to cut precious stones! To carpenter, and no telling what else!
Building a Place in Which God can be worshipped!
A Tabernacle, created according to His Plans!
An old Preacher once wrote an Article on these Verses, calling them “The Condescension of The Holy Spirit!” Some of His more “lowly” works!
Yes, the Spirit not only created the world!
And not only convicts and saves lost souls!
And not only “birthed” the Church, at Pentecost!
He also (humbly) helps men (and women) with their work!
Their employment!
Their everyday occupations!
Look at the verbs in the above Paragraph this morning. The Spirit of God … to aid a man “to devise, to cut, to set, to carve, to work!”
Oh, the practicality of God the Holy Spirit!
No wonder Paul can urge us: “Whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” Colossians 3:17, because God inspired those works (if they are pure) in the first place!
Or Colossians 3:23, just a few verses later. “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord.” Knowing the Holy Spirit incites such work, literally as acts of worship.
Filled with the Spirit, to clean the Church bathrooms!
Filled with the Spirit, to drive that truck!
Filled with the Spirit, to change that diaper!
To wash those dishes!
Yes, He invades (permeates) every area of life.
Even the workshop.

Let’s be aware today of His (the Spirit’s) guiding Hand … in all we do. He is not a part-time Holy Spirit! And if you do something that you KNOW does not please Him, in which He cannot participate … back off, stop it, separate yourself immediately!
