Just two words, and they “arrested” my attention as I read our chapter for today, Isaiah 56.
“Even them!” (They comprise just a small portion of Isaiah 56:7, and are today’s focus.)
The chapter basically consists of God “surprising” Israel by telling her that not only Jews can be saved … but also “sons of strangers” (Gentiles) and “eunuchs”(probably physically deformed people) and other “outcasts” of various kinds!
Yes …“even them!”
Our verse in full: “EVEN THEM will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for ALL PEOPLE.”
That sounds amazingly close to the precious words “Whosoever will!”
“Even them!”
And the good news … it includes YOU!
And ME!
Isaiah earlier wrote, following God’s Lead … “Look unto Me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.” Isaiah 45:22
Hallelujah!
