With 27 chapters, the Book of Leviticus is a daunting study. Yet it is a delightful study as well!
In my on-line writings, through the years, I (back in June of 2004) penned a Series of Bible Studies comparing the New Testament Book of James to the Old Testament Book of Leviticus. (These are still archived and readable if you will visit and search our “Bible Study Pages Archive.”)
Then later (in July of 2013) I published (here on the Website) a brief (15 Lessons) Survey of Leviticus. Again, this is accessible on our “Archives” page. In fact, Debbie told me recently you can just use a search engine and find it as well!
But in the weeks ahead I yearn to write more about this third Book of the Bible. We can all be “learners” together in this new endeavor!
Yes, focusing on Leviticus!
“The Center of the Pentateuch” I’ve heard it called! (Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy!) The “third” of “five.”
I’d like to tie the Book (its main teachings) into the overall scope of the Genesis-Deuteronomy continuum. Then compare it to the New Testament Book of Hebrews as well. (Many believe that large Blocks of Hebrews are in reality a Commentary on Portions of Leviticus, anyway.)
That’s my desire for a while …“Leviticus.” I mean for our morning Bible Lessons here.
It is going to be exciting to see how the Lord, the Holy Spirit, leads us. Psalm 119:96 calls God’s Word “exceeding broad.” I think we are soon to learn that fact anew!
Anyone excited?
