THE MILLENNIUM … HERE HE COMES!

May 30, 2020 by Dr. Mike Bagwell

We’re traveling today (to an old fashioned Revival Meeting) and I didn’t think I would be able to easily find a Bible Text for this morning’s Lesson. But the Lord sure proved me wrong! (Thank God for Gideon Bibles in motel rooms. This one even had a King James Version!)

Isaiah chapter 63 opens with a series of questions, and some answers … all pertaining to the beginning of the Millennium I believe.

“Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.” Isaiah 63:1-4, King James Version, of course.

This is Jesus.

Having (if I can blend some Scripture here) just ridden His white horse of victory from Heaven back to earth. Having interrupted the Battle of Armageddon, having defeated Israel’s enemies! Splattered in red, his garments all bloody! (Not the Blood of Calvary here, the blood of anti-Semites and the antichrist and such!)

Jesus is angry!

And He fought and won the Battle alone, it appears! (Though he had “armies” with Him, “The armies which were in heaven followed Him.” Revelation 19:14)

This is Prophecy, pure and simple!

The Day of Grace is over.

The Day of Wrath has come!

And soon after this “cleansing” … the Millennium begins. Jesus initiates His Kingdom Rule on earth.

I mean, mid-Text, He tells us Who He is! Look … “I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save.” He is Righteousness! He is the “Mighty-to-save” One! He is the Son of God! He is our Saviour, too!

Wow, I have given you the timeline I think is unfolding in this Passage. Jesus words it this way: “The year of my redeemed is come.” Also, Biblically, the Year of Jubilee!

Israel redeemed!

The earth about to rejoice!

Glorious indeed!

THE MILLENNIUM … “ISRAEL, NOT THE CHURCH!”

May 29, 2020 by Dr. Mike Bagwell

Isaiah chapter 60 is amazing!

It’s Millennial, too.

Let me share with you a few “clips.”

God speaking to Israel …

I reckon the day she as a Nation is saved … “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.” Verse 1, and we know Who that Light is, don’t we?

Reversal, conversion … “For in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.” Verse 10, God still speaking, promising!

Verse 12, and probably the basis for the “Judgment of the Nations” in Matthew 25 … “For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.”

Wow!

God Himself (Jesus our Saviour) living in Israel, Jerusalem … “The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.” Establishing His Sanctuary there, His “Mercy Seat,” His very “Footstool!” (Verse 13)

Verse 15, again this is Israel, not the Church! “Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.”

Verse 18, sounds literal to me! “Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.”

Glory to this point even … “The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.” Verses 19-20, King James Version.

Israel, the Nation, saved, born-again? Preposterous many say. But God says: “Thy people also shall be all RIGHTEOUS: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.” Verse 21 of today’s Text, Isaiah 60.

I am enthralled with these Lines!

Earth today … cursed.

Earth tomorrow … blessed!

We had all better be thankful for Israel, that little Nation.

A small amount of our future (1,000 years) will be invested in seeing her so blessed. Maybe more than that, really, all eternity …

THE MILLENNIUM … “DID YOU SAY A WHOLE CHAPTER?”

May 28, 2020 by Dr. Mike Bagwell

Yes, Isaiah 62, best I can tell, is totally Millennial in scope! And even more amazing, it contains 12 verses! A whole Chapter …

This morning, being an early travel day (our revivals just might be getting back underway), I have a ton of packing to do. For that reason I am giving YOU a little assignment! (Stay with me now.)

Let’s read Isaiah 62, together. Every divinely inspired Line …

“1 For Zion’s sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem’s sake I will not rest, until the righteousness thereof go forth as brightness, and the salvation thereof as a lamp that burneth. 2 And the Gentiles shall see thy righteousness, and all kings thy glory: and thou shalt be called by a new name, which the mouth of the LORD shall name. 3 Thou shalt also be a crown of glory in the hand of the LORD, and a royal diadem in the hand of thy God. 4 Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the LORD delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. 5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee: and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee. 6 I have set watchmen upon thy walls, O Jerusalem, which shall never hold their peace day nor night: ye that make mention of the LORD, keep not silence, 7 And give him no rest, till he establish, and till he make Jerusalem a praise in the earth. 8 The LORD hath sworn by his right hand, and by the arm of his strength, Surely I will no more give thy corn to be meat for thine enemies; and the sons of the stranger shall not drink thy wine, for the which thou hast laboured: 9 But they that have gathered it shall eat it, and praise the LORD; and they that have brought it together shall drink it in the courts of my holiness. 10 Go through, go through the gates; prepare ye the way of the people; cast up, cast up the highway; gather out the stones; lift up a standard for the people. 11 Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. 12 And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.”

I have purposely left the verse numbers in place, for easier navigation.

Now Class, which Phrase (a string of words containing no verb) or Clause (a string of words including a verb) “jumps out” to grab your attention, or “warms” you heart?

Let’s try this!

Verse 1 to me … praying for Jesus’ Second Coming and the Salvation, the Redemption, of Israel!

Verse 2 … Israel’s Glorious Conversion being a “witness” to the whole Millennial world!

Verse 3 … two beautiful Phrases, both descriptors of Born Again Israel … “crown of glory” and “royal diadem!”

Wow!

Verse 4 … “Beulah” means “married!” And “Hephzibah” means “forsaken!” Talk about a reversal!

Are you all keeping up?

Verse 5 … Jewish boys no longer ashamed to be called Israelis! And God “delighting” (rejoicing, singing) over His people!

Verses 6 and 7 … prayer again! Intercessory Prayer … as in this spirit … “Even so, come Lord Jesus!” Quoting Revelation 22:20 … the last Request in the Bible, the last of many!

In verse 8 the Lord rebukes the “devourer,” using language reminiscent of Malachi 3:11. This is thrilling!

Verse 9 … no more famine! (Jesus must be a Supreme Agriculturist too! He was even interested in seed and sowers when He came to earth he first time!)

Verse 10 … totally new infrastructure! Roads to be build again! (All roads this time leading, not to Rome, but to Jerusalem!)

Verse 11 … I think someone wrote a song or two about this Truth. This Proclamation: “Behold, the LORD hath proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say ye to the daughter of Zion, Behold, thy salvation cometh; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.” King Jesus, we believe!

And verse 12 sure speaks for itself: “And they shall call them, The holy people, The redeemed of the LORD: and thou shalt be called, Sought out, A city not forsaken.” God about Israel … what names, what titles! Especially “holy” and “redeemed!”

Now, that’s the chapter summarized … you try it now. (YOU be the teacher!) And if any member of the class has a question, just email me at mikeanddebbiebagwell@yahoo.com … or text me (much quicker) at 770-844-7627.

Plus, we plan another Lesson in the morning. (Still a travel day, heading to Chesapeake, Virginia … but not having to leave as early.)

These Millennium Passages, almost too good to miss!

Isaiah 62, thank You Lord!

I think I see a Revival Booklet (a Bible Portion) coming on this one! Yes, this Text by itself! (I already have a much larger Booklet on the Millennium as a whole.)

Is the Bible “exceeding broad,” or what?

Psalm 119:96 … “Lord, thy commandment (Thy Word) is exceeding broad.”

THE MILLENNIUM … PERENNIAL REVIVAL!

May 27, 2020 by Dr. Mike Bagwell

The adjective actually means “through the years.” It’s from Latin, with the preposition “per” suggesting “through” and “annum” meaning “year.”

Revival in the Millennium?

For a thousand years?

My Text, my authority for this thought is found in Isaiah 59:20-21. See if you agree with my assessment, please.

“And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.”

A saved “Zion,” a cleansed “Jacob” (both synonyms or eponyms for Israel) with God’s Spirit upon the people. The redeemed!

By the way, the word string “turn from transgression” uses the key Hebrew word for “repentance!” (“Shub,” which implies a complete turnaround!)

Then the “Spirit” of the Lord, in combination with the “Words” of the Lord … become a cherished possession (as They are with every true Christian)!

The Holy Spirit!

The Word of God!

Promised “for ever!”

That’s bad news for the devil!

We shall enter a period of blissful time in the future (from the Millennium onward) when the Things of God rule supreme, world-wide!

No wayward children!

No more prodigals!

No apostates!

“Thus saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.”

Wow!

No wonder we are taught to pray “Thy Kingdom come!”

Little surprise then that the last prayer of the Bible is … “Even so, come Lord Jesus!”

A bright future becase of a great Saviour!

Hallelujah!

THE MILLENNIUM … A TIME OF REST!

May 26, 2020 by Dr. Mike Bagwell

Today is my birthday. I was born Sunday morning, May 26 of 1946. And so I have decided, even though we’re not yet in the Millennium, to take the day “off” and rest this morning.

Pray for us please.
