Psalm 104 has been called the “Creation” Psalm … because it seems to loosely describe the days of creation week, in order!
Where God initially said “Let there be light,” Genesis 1:3, that very first day!
And that is precisely where Psalm 104 begins … “Who coverest Thyself with light as with a garment: Who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain.” Verse 2, amazing!
God is here “covered with light!”
The verb “covered” means “clad, enwrapped, robed!
God wears Light!
1 John 1:5 teaches us … “God IS light, and in him is no darkness at all.” Pretty plain!
No wonder then that on the Mount of Transfiguration Jesus, according to Matthew … “His face did shine as the SUN, and his raiment was white as the LIGHT.” Matthew 17:2
God … clothed in Light!
And all this reminds me of another verse in the Psalms. “O God, in thy light shall we see light.” Psalm 36:7
Look at this!
The closer I live to Him, in His Light … the more “light” I will see!
His Light illuminates my path, my mind, my heart!
Glory to God!
Glory … that might just “shine” as well, bright as Light!
As in Luke 2:9 … “The Glory of the Lord SHONE round about them.” Amen!
So we really need to learn “to walk in the Light,” in His Light! See 1st John 1:7 for verification.
One more time … IN GOD’S LIGHT WE SHALL SE LIGHT!
And that’s this morning’s thought.
