Of course, that can be said of all the Bible’s 31,102 verses! Each being divinely inspired, inerrant (without mistake).
But this morning I specifically mean 1st Peter 5:7 … “Casting all your care upon him; for He careth for you.”
While not a command, the word “casting” is a participle, not an imperative verb … the verse still gives great advice! Essential to pursuing a worry-free life!
The noun “care” is, in fact, a synonym for “worry.” For any kind of “distraction.” Anything that “pulls you apart” mentally, emotionally, etc. (Personally, I am fighting one of those battles this very morning!)
The action word used here in our verse, “casting” simply means “to hurl!” That is, ‘to throw, to toss!”
The implication is that Jesus is big enough, strong enough, and “loving” enough (yes, He “cares” that much for us) to handle every load, burden, weight (worry) we toss onto him!
Wow!
What an invitation!
Excuse me, I think I’ll go right now and do some “casting!”
What a wonderful Saviour we serve!
Again I say, He cares!
