Recently, as I studied John 5:22, my heart was thrilled with the Fact that our dear Lord is also our “Judge!” Yes, I am speaking of Jesus.
The Proof Verse … “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son.”
Notice the qualifier … “ALL JUDGMENT!”
This surely means Jesus will be in charge at the great White Throne Judgment of Revelation 20.
This fearful Scene … “11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
And Jesus will be Judge at the beginning of the Millennium as reported by Matthew 25. (We call this one the “Judgment of the Nations.”)
“31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. 34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”
The Drama immediately continues in verse 41 … “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Just two examples … but every judgment the Bible depicts, Jesus is the Arbiter!
So we have learned, and this is what I forgot to say on the “Evening Meditation” posted yesterday …
In the Beginning … Jesus is Creator … John 1:3
“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”
In the End … Jesus is Judge … John 5:27
“The Father hath given him (Jesus) authority to execute judgment.”
In the Middle … Jesus is Saviour … John 4:42
“Now we believe; for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.”
Wow! No wonder Hebrews 13:8 thunders … “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.”
Now add this too, a powerful quote I forgot to include …
“Give me flame without light … and I will give you God the Father without the Son!”
A good Word Picture!
Folks, our next “Evening Meditation” looks at John 5:24, perhaps (in ways) the greatest Salvation Verse in all the Bible!

Oh, considering the Christian and “judgment?”
In one way, never!
“There is therefore now no condemnation (judgment) to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 8:1
But in another, fuller way, Yes Indeed!
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10
Amazing!
Peter asks, in the light of Jesus as Judge … “What manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God.” 2 Peter 3:11-12
Now … that’s’ all for today!
